Design Thinking Assignment: Stage 2

The next stage is define, meaning to make sense of the information gathered and to find out the real problem that needs a solution. Here our group talked about the real problem, what is was and how this determined how we moved forward with the stage. The problem had now taken a direction towards, ‘How can we reduce the reliance on our mobile phones for simple tasks and to keep us entertained?’

As a group we started to do more research into finding statistics about mobile phone usage, the physical and mental health risks, screen time, using a phone whilst driving, socialisation and addicting applications. We wrote down these statistics and once a good amount had been produced, we proceeded to categories them into different groups.

Next we thought of the many reasons that people stare at their phones. First by writing down subheadings then, elaborating more with specifics. Next was to really look a the problem and actually define it.
